Some of the businesses located on this block over the years included, Bridge Brothers at the corner of Main Street and Huron West, Cavanagh's Drug Store, Flerons Jewellers, Ansara's Restaurant and Candy Shop, Buchanan's General Store

One of the first tenants along this block was Fred Fleron in 1895 who sold jewelery and also fine china. He and his wife lived upstairs over the store.

Frank Cavanagh later purchased the building and moved his drug store from the end of Bridge Bros. store. The new store had a soda fountain that was well patronized until it was removed to enlarge the store space.

Frank Cavanagh's son John, took over the store and had it for many years before he sold it to Mrs. Judy Skene. She changed the name from "Cavanagh Drug Store" to "The Thessalon Pharmacy." She operated the pharmacy until fire claimed the building.

The view along the west side of Main Street looking north is much different from the turn of the century. Gone is the stately Moore House, the Barrett Block and all the original buildings that were on that side of the street.

They are replaced by new compact one story buildings with Forestland Clothing & Gifts on the north/west corner, the Sinton Tavern on the south/west and the Northern Credit Union beyond that.
