From its beginnings in the late 1800's, The Town of Thessalon has witnessed many changes as industry changed, times changed, progress brought new innovations, and the population rose and fell.

Through the past 100+ years most of the original buildings that are shown in the photos that follow were lost to fire. The Town today looks quite different with only a few of the original "commercial" structures still standing.

Where possible we have provided as much information as possible so that the original location of buildings can be surmised.

We have also provided current day photos of the same locations (block for block) and we hope you enjoy our photo essay as much as we enjoyed assembling it.
