Riding the River
Locks

In the early days of Burk's Falls the locks were made of wood. This lock would be eventually be replaced by a concrete lock.

And just like that the concrete lock was built. These locks were built all along Magnetawan. This is an image of the Armour coming into the lock. As it is coming in there is a dock to help guide the boat into the lock.

Here's the Armour going through the lock at Magnetawan. Now, what is the purpose of the lock? A lock is a device for raising and lowering boats between stretches of water of different levels on river and canal waterways.

One last scene of the Armour leaving a locks. Perhaps its getting ready for winter, because its about to get very cold and snowy.
