The Canoe Diaries are a series of written accounts detailing a canoe trip taken by the 5th Whitby Venturer Scouts. They travelled from Whitby, Ontario to Expo 67 in Montreal, Quebec, to celebrate the centennial of Canada’s confederation. The trip spanned a total of 17 days, with canoers departing from Port Perry, Ontario on July 8, 1967, and arriving in Montreal, Quebec on July 25, 1967.

The diaries were written by Gerry Hicks, one of the trip leaders.They include detailed entries recounting each day’s activities, photographs taken throughout the trip of various canoers and locations, and souvenirs collected over the duration of the trip. Throughout the trip, the Boy Scouts made several stops along waterways in Ontario and Quebec. In Ontario, the canoers stopped in or passed through Trenton, Kingston, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, Ottawa, and Hawkesbury. On the way to Montreal, the Boy Scouts also visited Pointe-Claire and Saint-Lambert, before arriving in Montreal.
