Introduction
Whitby Public Library, 405 Dundas St. W.
Whitby Public Library, 405 Dundas St. W. Details

The people of Whitby have long supported their libraries. Both Brooklin and Whitby established some form of library as early as 1852. As the Village of Brooklin and the Town of Whitby grew, so too did the libraries. Today, the Library is Whitby’s “Doorway to Discovery”, enriching and advancing our community with equitable access to information, ideas, inspiration and the joy of reading. This exhibit features the history of the Library, its various buildings, its branches, and you'll see how the growth of the Town is reflected in its Library.
