The photo cannot be taken later than August 30, 1952. That was the last day of operation on the line and the station in this photo looks active. The trees in the background are covered in leaves, so it's probably late spring or summer.
I'm not much of a car person, but I think the sedan is a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook. I don't know where the licence plate is from, but it's not an Ontario plate. It might be from the U.S.
Based on the above clues, I'd guess the photo was taken in the summer of 1952 by a railfan who'd come to see the line in operation before it shut down for good.
