- James M. Jay passed away on May 29, 1827 at the age of 2. He was the son of Samuel W. & Lavina Jay and presumably the brother of John Jay, W. Tyler Jay, and Fanny Tyler Jay. James is buried at the Oakland Pioneer Cemetery.
