"This half acre lot was obtained from the Crown on June 3, 1886 by William Elijah Kennedy. It was sold on June 23, 1893 to Margaret McArthur for $200, then to Samuel Best, Wm. Calder, and John McArthurs, trustees, who sold it Dec. 6, 1902 to Margaret Simpson for $400. On her death, it was sold Feb. 17, 1908 to Anne J. Ross. On May 2, 1968 it was sold to Alex Jefferies.
The house was built in 1889 and burned in 1988. The property is now owned by Effie and Joe Locker, Mr Jefferies sister.
There may have been two houses on this lot at one time. In 1894 W.H. Porter owned this whole lot. In 1898, Rev. Thos. Davidson had the north half. Two years later the Presbyterian Church must have used it as a Manse. Then J.D. Nicholson and John Buck had it in 1905 & 1906 respectively. Alice Carlton owned the south half in 1894 and it was sold to Mrs. Simpson in 1902." - Date of Original
