    This is a newspaper clipping about the first ship docking and loading at the new dock in Thessalon on April 28, 1989. An accompanying photo shows the ship at the Smelter Bay Aggregates cargo dock.

The Sault Star, April 19 1912     Out of 2200 people on board only 866 were saved. This was the maiden voyage of the ship belonging to the White Star Lines and it sank after colliding with an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland.

The Sault Star, 1953     SS Modjeska was acquired by Owen Sound Transportation Co. in 1926. Formerly used as a day steamer for short trips on Lake Ontario, staterooms and cabins were installed by OSTC and renamed Manitoulin.
