Description
This is a black and white photo of a two story white wood frame building with small raised light tower on top. The woman is likely Esther Harvey, and the dog named either Toby or Jack.
Notes
The Thessalon Lighthouse served to keep sailors safe for over 60 years. It was built in 1898 as a Lighthouse and dwelling and was built at a cost of $1,219.36. Previously a private light had been maintained by the Dyment Lumber Company.

Originally the Lighthouse was tended by Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey who worked together for over 10 years until Mr. Harvey passed away. Mrs. Harvey took over and tended the light for over 40 years. She was referred to as the "Brave Little Lady of the Light."

The light was temporarily discontinued in 1960 due to difficulty in keeping it maintained and permanently discontinued on September 28, 1961.
