- Notes
- The Whit-Knit Club was formed in 1940 by a group young girls who were eager to help with the local war effort. They knitted hundreds of socks and created parcels to send to every Whitby man serving overseas during the Second World War. To raise money for their cause, they mowed lawns, babysat, organized dances, and hosted dinners.
