Description: A black and white portrait photograph of Miss Elmina Lynde (1815-1893).
Notes: Elmina Lynde, youngest child of Whitby pioneer Jabez Lynde, was born during July 1815 at Whitby Township. She died on June 12, 1893 and is buried at the Society of Friends' Cemetery, Pickering Township. In her last will and testament she left the family homestead to All Saints' Anglican Church as she was the last surviving member of her generation. The church sold the property two years later as the house was too far removed from the centre of town for the church to use.
