Wednesday, October 25, 1989 TERRACE BAY/SCHREIBER NEWS Page 7 Schreiber recreation news Aerobics The Recreation Department is happy to announce that we now have two (2) qualified acrobic instructors; Brenda Figliomeni and Maria Speziale who are anx- ious to get the classcs back into action. We are now accepting registra- tion for Hi-Lo Aerobics for the following sessions: Morning 10 to 11 a.m., afternoon 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sessions will run only with sufficient participants. All classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays at the Recreation Centre beginning on Tuesday, November 7 and concluding on December 14. Interest has also been shown in an "Over 40" Aerobic Program. If you would like to sce this class run please contact the Recreation Office at 824-2317. Gymnastics The gymnastics program is all set to go! The program that is being offered will be held from November 13 until December 20 each Monday and Wednesday evening at the Terrace Bay High School Gym. Age groups and times are as follows: 5 & 6 ycars "Kindergym" from 6 to 6:45 p.m. 7 years and older 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. The age group of 7 and over will be divided up accordingly at a later date. Childrens Dance & Adult Ballroom Dance The Recreation Department has been in contact with Ms. Dolores Niskannen of Thunder Bay who is willing to run dance classes at the Recrcation Centre. Childrens classes will be run on a weekly basis on weekends. The Adult Ballroom Dance will be a weekend workshop. We are now accepting names for both these programs which will be finalized as soon as suffi- cient numbers are received. Learn to Skate We are accepting registrations for the Learn to Skate program which will again be held under the instruction of Anne Miler. Lessons will be held each Monday and WEdnesday from 10 to 1 a.m. or 2 to 3 p.m. Classes will commence as soon as suffi- cient registration is reccived. Call now! Mixed Volleyball | & Badminton Both «i these sports are in full swing at the Schreiber High School and are run on a drop-in basis. Vollyball takes place each Tucsday evcning between 7 and 9 p.m. Badminton runs Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 Stop by the High School and join in on the fun. Craft 'N Stuff Sale The Recreation Department is pleased to offer this sale for the first time. We hope it will become an annual cvent. The sale is open to local craftmakers and cottage industrivs. The doors will be open in the community hall of the Recreation Centre on Sunday, November 26 at 1 p.m. for the public to view all the exciting goods, just in time for.your Xmas shopping. Our concession booth will be open so you can stop by and browse, enjoy a cup of fresh coffee and something from the many bake tables that the local groups are sctting up. Mark the date on your calendar! Arena Season The arcna season is in full swing! Public Skating takes place each Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and also on Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sundays from 1 to 3. For times of Shinny Hockey and Public Skate during the week please contact the Recreation Office. The Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic youths for part-time work during the winter months. Openings are available for ticket sellers, pubiic skate referees and concession booth.
