Description
Photo of the interior of Fred Hutton's store, currently 113 Queen Street East, St. Marys. This is a great record of a general store with display cases on the left side and shelves along the right side. The pyramids of canned goods on the top shelves are particularly impressive. There is a staircase at the back that leads to a second-floor display area.
A tin ceiling can also be seen in this photo.
Three of the men in the store are identified: on the left behind the counter is Tom Egan; Fred Hutton is one of the men at the back and Sam Bartlett is on the right in the apron.
Notes
Condition: not the best contrast; can tell photo wasn’t glued down the best with lots of bubbles and marks; very yellowed; Limit exposure.
