Oshawa Street Scenes

    The Trenton Post Office tower still stands, but the rest of the building was demolished in 1972.

    The Spring and Axle Co. building was originally built in 1918. It was located on Ritson Road north of Colborne Street It reported to the parent company Ontario Steel Products Ltd. (in Gananoque). The

    Originally owned by the T. E. Eaton company, this factory made ladies apparel. Later, it was enlarged and taken over by the Oriental Textile Company in 1917 and later occupied by Alger Press.

    Located on the north west corner of Simcoe and Adelaide Streets, this house was built between 1915 and 1917. The residence of W. H. Gibbs, Prospect Park was torn down to make way for it. This was the

    Black and white photo of the exterior of the old Y.M.C.A. Building on Simcoe Street South, just south of Athol. It was demolished to make way for the Federal Building which opened in Nov 1954.

    Colonel R.S. McLaughlin Armoury opened in 1914, just a couple of months before the breakout of the First World War.

    Located at the corner of Victoria Street and King Street East, the Regent Theatre was originally erected in 1919, and staged both theatre acts and films. It eventually fell into disrepair, until it w
