Roll Call was to name a relaxing exercise. The minutes were read and approved. New business was dealt with, and we are planning on holding our annual fish fry, with date to be announced later. Also - anyone having labels from Canada packer products should bring them to the February meeting. We were also asked to have everyone (and this includes neighbours and friends) save the computer marks from all products (the square on the product with the straight black marks) and, if a certain amount are collected, they will be redeemed to help a person to be on the kidney machine at the K.G.H. . This closed the business part of the meeting. Mrs. Mabel Davison had a very interesting paper on nutrition, and compared the body to a car motor: if you don't eat the right things, such as proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins which supply the energy, it would be like trying to drive a car without gas or oil to run it. Mrs. Ross Stone had a reading on New Beginnings, which was very good with the new year starting. The singing of the National Anthem closed this part of the meeting. Mrs. Jansen had a contest on the "Price is Right" which was really fun, and Mrs. Mavis Bower was the winner. Mrs. Clow had a guessing contest on how many beans in the jar with Mrs. Hayes being the winner. Miss Thelma Stevens moved a vote of thanks to Mrs. Clow and Mrs. Jansen for the lovely meeting.
