ST. PETER"S A.C.W. SEEtEY'S BAY Our May meeting was held at the home of Etheleen Tye with Meg Bugler as Pres. A Few members were present and one visitor, little Jonathon Bugler. Scripture was read by Mari Bradley From Mark 9. Meg read the meditation which dealt with the good that "fire" can do For us - such as warmth, light, new gr0wth after a Fire and the cooking or Food. This was a follow up of the good of water and salt in previous meditations. Fire can also destroy homes, burn bodies, forests and business establishments. On the other hand we speak of the fire of inspiration and above all, the Fire of the Holy Spirit - the light of the Christian gospel. Mari read the treasurer' 5 report which was adopted as read and seconded by Charlotte McConnell. There was no correspondence . Chicken Barbeque is set for Wed. Aug. lst at Seeley's Bay Legion Hall. Our First Bake Sale will be Sat. June 2 at l p.m. on the Church lawn - inside it it is raining. Meg & Carol Shaw attended a Church enrichment program and are planning to get “family gatherings" started. We were saddened to hear of the sudden death of our dear frierd and neighbour Mrs. Vera Maxwell who had been living with her son in Detroit, Mich. Two "Good News' Bibles" will be put in our Church in her memory. Mari read an impressive piece of poetry “Don' t Carry the Burdens of To-morrow" . The meeting ended with prayer and a vote of thanks to the hostess by Charlotte 8. Meg. June meeting will be held at Mary Deans' . ' DID YOU KNOW...
