Page 7 PHILIPSVILLE W.I. The Philipsville Women's Institute met in their hall on Thursday, April 12th. The meeting opened with the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Roll Call was the payment of dues. Business was dealt with, including report on Annual Fish Fry which was very good. Each member was reminded to save the coupons from Canada Packers' products and were given a list of what products to save, and to get their friends to help so that we can get things for the hall. Cards and gifts are to be sent to three people who helped with the Fish Fry for their help â€" who are not members. Plans were made for the district annual that is to be held in Philips- ville on May 12th. This closed the business for the regular meeting. A paper was read by Mrs. L. Hayes on "Gardener :Tobe's" ten commandments on gardening. Mrs. Marion Stone had a paper on fashions. Reports from standing committees were read and approved, and a copy is to be sent to the persons in the district who are to receive them by the first week in May. Invitations were received from Delta U.C.W. to attend their meeting April 11 and from Toledo for May 10. 26 home calls and 27 hospital calls were made to the sick and shut-ins and 22 books were read. Plans were discussed for our Spring Fair and Tea to be held in the Hall at Chantry, Tuesday Fay 8th at 2 p.m. The meeting closed with prayer. Refreshments and a social hour were enjoyed by all.
