._ Al- page L4 PLANTING BY THE MOON The best time to plant flowers and vegetables that bear crops above the ground is during the LIGHT of the moon; that is, betâ€" ween the day the moon is new to the day it is full. Flowering bulbs and vegetables that bear crops below ground should be plantâ€" ed during the DARK of the moon; that is. from the day after it is full to the day before it is new again. The theory behind this is that during the dark phases of the moon, the interior of the earth cools down. The plants and stalks will then shoot up with more top growth and head out better with little root.
