ELGIN FRIENDSHIP CLUB 0n Wed.,Apr. ll,the Friendâ€" ship Club held its monthly meetâ€" ing in the old school. Mr. Phonse Donovan,President, chaired the meeting. Mr. Donovan welcomed everyone and introduced Mr. and Mrs. flinâ€" ston Gifford of brockville. Mr. Gifford is President for 20 Senâ€" ior Citizens clubs in Zone 20 south in Leeds & Grenville.He gave a very interesting talk on his duties and work with Senior citizens. Mrs. Scott led a singsong,fol- lowed by solos of The holy City, Peter Cottontail and bless This House. The members are very grateâ€" ful to Kathryn for generously giving of her musical talent for their entertainment. A pleasant social hour was spent over a delicious meal. An invitation was to be extendâ€" ed to the Lyndhurst Club to join the Friendship Club at the next meeting,May 9,at 2 o'clock. Rideau Craft News The last monthly meeting had to be ELGIN HOCKEY On Friday,April 20th. the Elgin Hockey Mothers treated the minor hockey players and their fathers and coaches to a turkey dinner and special entertainment. About 120 persons attended. The junior trophy, donated by Bob Smith, was awarded to both teams who ended the season in a tie. Colin MacLennan and Tracey Smith and their coaches Dunc Mac- Lennan and Shawn Seaman were proud to accept. The intermediate winners were coached by Edgar Connell and Bob Smith. Kevin Smith accepted the trophy From Doug Summers. The Senior team, coached by Doug Emmons, captained by Paul Kenney were the winners of the trophy presented by Zeta Tate.
