McCann. meeting opened with the‘Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Roll call was â€" "A gift money can't buy". New business was dealt with, and, at a later date, we will be having our annual fish fry. The February meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Mabel Davison. The convenors - Mrs. Ross Stone, and Mrs. T. Bower, put on a demonstration on "A Festival of Dairy Foods". They made three dishes â€" Macaroni and cheese casserole, Onion cheese quiche, and colourful sole fillets. They had books which they gave to each member which included these recipes and explained the different ways milk can be used. The book explained the start of the different boards to the way things are now, and what is being done. After this, a question and answer period was held, and a contest with Mrs. Davison being the winner. Mrs. Hallett moved a vote of thanks to all who helped make it a very interesting program. We enjoyed the dishes that were made, for lunch. The meeting closed with the Royal Anthem. A good recipe for busy days. 1/2 cup skim milk powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) cheddar cheese, _ shredded il/A cup onion, chopped :1/2 cup green pepper, chopped i2 cups raw macaroni ‘2 tsp. Layer macaroni, Eskim milk powder mixture, onions and 5green peppers in a 3 quart greased lcasserole. Make six layers. Add Lworcestershire sauce to hot tomato Ejuice and pour over layers. The theme for the meeting was Christmas.Mrs. Leo Wykes presentâ€" ed an impressive service,assisted by Mrs. B. Scheffield with scrip- ture reading,and Rev. and Mrs. Grant Richardson with a lovely duet.Several Christmas carols were sung,accompanied by Mrs. W.S.Chant at the piano. Roll call was answered by 32 members and guests with a Christâ€" mas verse. Twentyâ€"seven home calls and 18 hospital calls were made to sick and shut-ins,and 26 books read for the literature department. The Treasurer,Mrs. E. Campbell, gave a financial statement and summary of the year's work.Motions were made for the upkeep of the Hall.$200 will be paid through Delta,and the same through Portâ€" land for the M&S Fund. The president,Mrs. L. Townsend,, thanked all committees for makâ€" ing the day a festive one.As a surprise,Mrs. Inez Davis was reâ€" sponsible for making Mrs. C Wier and Mrs. L Townsend "Life Members". Mrs. Davis is a valued member and has served as Recording and Corresponding Secretary in a very capable manner for several years, but,due to ill health,has been relieved of her duties by request. Mrs. Warren Cripps agreed to comâ€" plete the term in this capacity. Rev. Richardson closed the meeting with prayer. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Leo Wykes Jan.9 at 2 pm.
