The topic for the latter half of the month is "community helpers". Plans are being made for a trip to the fire department and for visits by the O.P.P. and the Public Health Nurse. The parent fundâ€"raising committee has received copies of a cookbook containing recipes donated by parents and friends. Many thanks to Pearl Peddle who created the attractive sketch for the book cover. The cookâ€" books, at $3.00 a copy, are available from parents of the nursery school children or phone 272â€"273ut Any area resident interested in learning about the Nursery School will have two opportunities to do so this month. For furthur information call Jo Shaw, 359â€"5426. ,SOUTH CROSBY FIRE DEPARTMENT South Crosby Volunteer Fire Department celebrated their 12th Anniversary on March 8th with a dance at R.D.H.S. -Due to a severe snow storm, the attendâ€" ance was not as high as expected. The 80 people there enjoyed dancing to the Country Swingers. A hot meal was served at mid- night by the Ladies Auxiliary. Chris Burtch won the door prize which was a turkey from Halladay's Grocery. The department has purchased a new twoâ€"way radio for the van. This radio will enable them to communicate better with other fire departments and also between their own vehicles. The installation will be completed this week. Fire extinguishers and smoke detectors are still available through the department. Filling of fire extinguishers can also be arranged.
