Flying Pans The Portland 4-H club began on Feb. 7. It was located at Mrs. Haskins' house. who is one of the leaders. Our second leader is Mrs. Myers. It is a cooking project this term called Our club consists of 13 people. At the first meeting we elected a president (Allison Haskins), a vice president (Jeff Hutchison) and 3 reporters (Laura Stone, Kim Wright, and Rosita Pollock). Since no one wanted to be secretary and do all the writing We decided to take turns. Our group is called "The Flying Pans". Our first cooking assignment was "stir fry" cooking. The recipe was "Chinese Style Pork". We were given different jobs like chopping vegetables and cooking. We then had a feast with some having 3 bowls. The next meeting. again held at Mrs. Haskins' house was on tacos. We read an article on Mexican food which taught us several things such as the difference between a tortilla and a taco. The tortilla is just the shell and the taco is the shell with a filling of vegetables or whatever you like. Since the taco shell is hard. when you bite into it,it usually breaks in half and thats what hapâ€" pened to one of our members. When we were done eating three people were elected to was , dry, and put away the dishes. When that was done the meeting was adjourned. HARLEM CHANTRY U.C.W.
