RIDEAU LIONS FOOTBALL The Rideau Lions started the 1980 L.G.S.S.A. football season with the same old problem. We had very few experienced players. There was a good turnout of boys but mostly students from grades 10 and 11. This inexperience showed in the first two games when Rideau lost games to T.I.S.S. 14-6 and B.C.I. 9-7. The B.C.I. loss was on the last play of the game. The third and fourth games of the season were also losses but the scores were not as close. In the fifth game some of the vet- erans on offense and defense came through and Rideau held B.C.I. to a 7-7 tie. We Won the last game of the season against South Grenville High School by a 13â€"0 score. Tom Vickers scored both touchdowns in the victory and Paul Kenny kicked one convert. Saturday, Nov. 1, the Lions travel to Brockville to meet B.C.I. in the semiâ€"finals. If that game is victory for Rideau then Sat. Nov. 8 they will play for the championship (probably in Brockville).
