U‘ SEELEY’S BAY U.C.W. The May meeting of Seeley's Bay U.C.W. was held in the C.E. room of the United Church at 8 p.m., on May 6. Gladys Webb as hostess for the evening welcomed the members. Linda Horsey and Myrtle Simp- son told how the Bible was comâ€" piled and finally printed in 1607. Over the years other material has been added and now it is translated into over a thousand languages. We were urged to read and study with open hearts and not ignore the great treasure we have been given by much sacrifice. The president, Hilda Simpson. conducted the business. Minutes were read, treasurer's reports was presented, the offering taken and dedicated. An invitation was re- ceived to join Elgin U.C.W. on May 13 to hear Rev. J. Muchan speak of his work with the Leprosy Mission. Wall St. United Church sent an invitation to attend their display of quilts on May 8. Quim-moâ€"lac requested secondâ€"hand living room furniture, small rugs, 46 pairs of curtains, end tables and lamps. Announcement of United Church Renewal Fellowship Family Camp at Landon Bay July 21 - 26. Hilda thanked the group for cards sent while she was ill. Various members volunteered to put flowers at the front of the church in different months. Mary Davies brought forward a request from the Church Council that some ladies of the church act as a welcoming group at the time of service to make everyone feel at home. Mrs. Quammie reported the cards ordered had arrived. Linda Horsey moved adjournment of this part of the meeting. Mrs. Quammie, who was in charge of program, presented two contests based on Bible characters which were enjoyed by all.
