Due to the cooler weather, it was held at the home of Mrs. Laura Russell. There were six members present. President Sweet opened by welcoming all present with an optimistic thought for the day. She thanked Mrs. Russell for the invitation to hold the meeting in her home. The minutes were read. Repair has been completed to corners of the Old Stone Mill. We thank Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stone very much for their donation of the side of beef for the recent raffle. This was a fine success. We still have hopes for further deve10pment of the Old Mill. The financial report was read. A discussion followed concerning articles to sell at the Maple Fastival. Mr. R. Stone and Mrs. Saunders are to investigate this. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan have a supply of Old Stone Mill Mugs and also hasty- notes in both village grocery stores and at their home. These make fine gifts from Delta for the Christmas Season. Then "Happy Birthday"vms sung'for ourImmmers who Grs. to 6 had birthdays in Sept. and Oct. Then 1st _ James Rogers, Gr. 5 we sang "The More We Get Tbgether." The minutes were adopted. 2nd - Kim Sawyer, Gr. 5 Mrs. Bryan read an account from the 3rd _ Krista Steary, Gr. 6 Sick Committee. Mr. Kirby gave a report of our bus trip to Pow Wow. Gr. to Frank Chisholm is to look after the bowling. Accordianist Denise played more to the enjoyment of all. Dick and Miriam gave an illustrated account of their recent cruise down the St. Lawrence River. Bingo was then enjoyed by all. ELDON R. President Florence Malony opened the meeting with the Ode and Collect. Following the Roll Call, Mrs. Laura Russell read an article on the Motto 2 "ThegastcmnnotIHIOMMumd; fluafuhnm is in our hands." A report was then read by Mrs. Russell describing the aims of the Women's Institute. The W. I. was founded February 19, 1897 to promote better homemaking and good citizenship. Mrs. Russell particularly stressed the bursary and Tweedsmuir History Book. It was reported that the Library Board had somer students copy the village history from the Tweedsmuir Book, fer reference purposes. women's Institute calendars are available for 81.50.
