TOWNSHIP OF REAR OF LEEDS AND LANSDOWNE - COUNCIL NOTES The Bear of Leeds and Lans- downe Township Council met on Mon- day, Jan. 17 at the township offices in Sweets Corners. Reeve Hubert Sly and Councillors Roy Greenhorn and Murray Seaman as well as clerk-treasurer Carol Johnston were in attendance. The bills and accounts were received and approved. A delegation from Lyndhurst with Joe Chapman as their spokesperson delivered a petition signed by 137 residents of the south end of the township. The petition re- quested that township council reverse its earlier decision and support the location of a book- mobile in the village of Lyndhurst to house the library. The request to locate the bookmobile in Lyndâ€" hurst was turned down previously because it was thought that it would contradict a bylaw of the township. After examining the bylaw on mobile homes, the council found no such contradiction and approved a motion to accept the book mobile for use as a library. The book mobile will be placed on township property, beside the old township garage in Lyndhurst. The book mobile will be moved in on or before April Ist, 1977. Previously the library was located in the Legion Hall. Appointees for the RIDEAU LAKES UNION LIBRARY BOARD for the 1377 term are: Harry LaPaire for Lyndhurst, Mrs. Helen Sweet and alternate Mrs. Dorothy Davies for Seeley‘s Bay and Mr. Murray Seaman as township rep- resentative. SUSMICHMHHRLAHL Commmity Education Worker from St. Lawrence College gave a brief talk on her job in North Leeds. A grant of 325 is to be sent to St. John Ambulance, who are currently running a course in Seeley's Bay. The township is participating the ONTARIO HOME RENEWAI PROGRAMME.
