Feb. 15 - Mar. 15 â€" Portland Branch - Heritage Display of Local Artifacts and photographs. For the month of March a large display will be on exhibit at Rideau District High School. This display traces the growth of the Constitu- tion and the British Parliamentary system using documents, pictures and photographs. Mar. 24 - Crggts for_Senior citizens in the Senior citizens room Elgin 7.30 p.m. Mar. 30 - Family Film night in Elgin Senior Citizens Room - 7.30 p.m. "An Elephant called Slowly" follows the life of the Travers family of 'Born Free' fame when they adopt 3 elephants, the youngest named Pole which is Swahili for slowly. April 1 â€" Portland and Elgin Public Schools - 11.00 a.m. Portland 1.30 p.m. Elgin Song§_and Stories with Pauline Proulx. This well known Ottawa children's entertainer will give an hour long programme. All mothers with pre- school children are welcome to at- tend. April 6 - Newboro - 7.30 p.m. A Naturalist programme will be given by our local experts, the Bonwills, in conjunction with the Horticultur- al Club. April 8 - Chas. Hayter,the well know Canadian Actor will present a proâ€" gramme "A Taste ogflRQbertg§eryig§fl. This is a one man show dramatizing the life of Service and using his works. "Bun" Sheffield ..Delta 928-2311 Drama Group Getting Readv For Present- ï¬lial- Members of the Adult Drama GrOUp of Westport and district are inviting anygne who wishes to lend a helping hand to'get into the act', by coming out and giving assistance in building sets, painting them or delving into their attics and cupboards for clothes depicting other eras that might be used in the plays the group is present- ly working on. If they cannot be used now they will become a part of the permanent wardrobe and will be of tremendous help later on. This Group under the direction of the Instructor, Mrs. June Creisamer is sponsored by the continuing ed- ucation program of St. Lawrence College and those participating are most enâ€" thusiastic about the training they are receiving. For their Spring Production they have three One Act Plays coming along well and by May and June when they will presenting them in a number of centers in North Leeds. It Should be a command performance. As well. they have a children's production in which they will be joined by a number of the children from Mrs. Creisamers drama class at the school. This production will be presented at most of the schools in the area.
