S A sumptuous lunch was served by the convenors Mrs. Mary Fraser, Mrs. Eva Baxter, Mrs. Violet Powell and assisted by Mrs. Katheryn Scott, Mrs. Jean Dwyre and Mrs. Marion Seeley. The tables were beautiful with lovely place mats given the club by Mrs. Georgia Shanks and done with a St. Patrick theme by her pupils at the South Crosby Public School. Prizes for having the lucky cups were won by Mrs. Lawrence Bryden and Mrs. Madeline Glover. A trip for the Spring was discussed with many favor- ing a twoâ€"day trip to Niagara Falls. There were thirtyâ€"five members and guests present. Mrs. Seeley thanked all who had helped to make the afternoon such a delightful event. Convenors for the April meeting are Mrs. Edna Burt, Mrs. Olive Shire and Mrs. Madeline Glover. The Friendship Club is very grateful to Mr. Seeley' br the generâ€" ous giving of his time and his great interest in the progress of the club. ELGIN HOCKEY AWARDS NlGHT I - to be held April 15th at 8 p.m. at South Crosby Public School. Crests and trophies will be presented and films will be shown. This evening will be sponsored by the Elgin Junior Hockey Mothers. A very successful Bowlerama was held at the Elgin Lanesâ€"EE‘FFEdZy and Saturday, March 11 and 12. The net proceeds of $317.50 were donated to the maintenance fund of Elgin outdoor rink. Special thanks to Mrs. Phyllis McGhie, Dick Raison, Mrs. Phyllis Connell, Doris Summers, and others who helped. The Community Centre committee is also grateful to all contributors of prizes and to the bowlâ€" ers. Best scores in their respective categories were obtained by Laurie Welch, Joe Hewitt, Johanna Hill, David Gard, Edna Morris (high triple 987), and Art Gordanier.
