SEEIIEY'S 'BAY LEGION, BRANCH 5,21 To start off the Royal Cana- dian Legion, Branch 491, Seeley's Bay, would like to extend congra- tulations to all concerned members of the "Leeds Lantern” and extend to you a welcome and good luck in all your future endeavours. Its doors are always open to one and all who may wish to use our facilities for various func- tions, such as dances, banquets, etc. Should you wish more information, please contact the branch c/o P.O. Box 9, Seeley's Bay. Hall rentals should be addressed to Mr. J. Flint at the same address. Telephone enquiries are also welcome. In the not too distant future the branch will be holding its annual Auction sale. The date is 30 April, 1977, and everyone is welcome. Your price of admission will be an article which we may in turn auction off to others. We urge you to come out, we may have just what you've been lookr ing for but couldn't afford. For anyone who may be interesâ€" ted in joining the Legion but was never sure if he qualified, all it takes is one letter to get the ball rolling. Our membership chairman is always on hand to give advice to anyone who requests it. One of our major projects for 1977 has been that of "Operation Service"° This program's prime aim is to contact veterans and dependants who may be eligible for veteran's benefits, namely Disability Pensions, War Veterans Allowance, etc., but are unaware of their rights and privi- leges. Those already receiving these benefits should not, other than in special circumstances, be required to re-apply. If you know of anyone who thinks , or you think, may be in need of services such as the above, or someone you don't know needs help, then please have he or she contact this branch immediately. All efforts are being made throughout Canada right now to help those who need our help, and it is our duty to help if we can. Further information will be given to anyone who needs it if they make thmeselves known to this branch. The Ladies Auxiliary to the branch continues with their Wednesday Night Bingos. Early Birds start at 7:h5 pm with regular bingo commencing at 8pm d1arp. Admission is only 31.00 and extra cards are 15¢ each. We play 6 specials during the night including a build-up jackpot. The Jackpot is always at 31.00, but the numbers build up from 50 numbers until it is won. If you have friends who enjoy Bingo, pass it on and join us each Wednesday night at the Legion Hall. M VThe Art of Changing Yourself" The art of changing yourself requires the Substituting of new habits for old. You mold your character and your future by your thoughts and acts. You cannot climb uphill by thinking downhill thoughts. If your world is gloomy and hopeless, it is because you are gloomy and hopeless. You must change your mind to change your world.
