Harlem-Chantry U.C.w. held a very successful afternoon tea, garden and bake sale etc. in the hall at Chantry Tues. May 3rd at 2 p.m. Nearly 100 guests were welcomed and seated at attractive tea tables, coming from Delta, Toledo, Elgin, Portland, Forfar, Newboyne, Plum Hollow, Smiths Falls and areas. Mrs. B. Sheffield conducted a very impressâ€" ive worhsip service, "In The Beginning", assisted by several members with scripture readings from Genesis, a solo "It Is No Secret" by Mrs. Leo Wykes. The hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth" was sung with Mrs. w.s. Chant at the piano. Guests were served tea and light refreshâ€" ments followed by the sale of a variety of house and garden plants, baked goods, surp- rise packages, etc. Thank you guests, mem- bers and committees for making this annual event a tremendous success. Mrs. W. Cripps will be hostess for the next meeting June 7th in her house. Everyone is welcome.
