For some, it was a trip down memory lane as they looked at and touched many heirlooms, such as the "Special" from "The Netherlands", loaned by Mrs. Henry Dobma. Other articles were handiwork of present and former members, such as needlework, paintings, carvings, and homebaking. The Quilt Display was outstanding, with quilts ranging in age from 150 years old, where the small, dainty, handmade stitches were so evident in spite of the obvious lack of electricity at that time - to the beautiful present day trend of appliques and painted types. Many exclamations of pleasure from guests was ample reward for organizers and workers whose wish it is to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Olivet United Church, Highway 32. The next event is to be an Old Fashioned Strawberry Social on June 17th, beginning at 5 p.m. The renowned "Swinging Sixties†Choir of Gananeque will provide special entertainment.
