I I I I Harlem - Chantry U.C.W. The monthly meeting of the Harlem- Chantry U.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs. Warren Cripps, on Tuesday, June 7, at 2:00 p.m. The theme for the meeting was "Our Country CANADA" 19 members answered the roll call with a verse or statement on Canada. Mrs. E. Jaquith conducted a very impressive worship service in keeping with the theme, assisted by Mrs. E. Campbell with scripture reading. Mrs. 0. Hunt gave a very interesting paper on citizenship. The usual orders of business were dealt with. The president, Mrs. L. Townsend, thanked all who helped with the meeting and Mrs. Cripps for her hospitality. A social hOur and refreshments were enjoyed by all. ' The next regular monthly meeting will be at Mrs. B. Sheffield's cottage on July 5, at 12 noon. CHANTRY CO. - Delta Fire Dept. The regular monthly meeting of the CHANTRY CO. was held on June 1A. The winning ticket for the $100 raffle was drawn by Mrs. Inez Davis of Chantry. The winning ticket was #689 - Gerald wing of Westport. The next draw will be held on Aug. 9 and tickets are now on sale. Chantry Co. had a fire call on June 1 to the residence of Mr. Clarence Seed. The members would like to extend their THANKS at this time to the ladies of the community who served sandwiches and coffee to the firemen of Elgin, Portland, Kitley and Delta. THANKS also go out to Chant's General Store of Harlem, Dewell's General Store of Chantry and the Chantry Rink Committee for their donations towards the food served.
