Council authorized the purchase of a John Deere crawler, frontâ€"end loader, backhoe and triâ€"axle trailer from Clifford Restrick for $6,000.00. A grant in the amount of $50.00 to the Lyndhurst Santa Claus Parade was authorized. invitation tenders were called for 500 cu yds of screened sand, stacked at Township Garage. Tenders to close at noon on November 1, 1977. Due to the hunting season, the next regular meeting of Council will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 1977 in the Council Chambers at 8:00 P.M. The congregations of Olivet, Seeleys Bay and Lyndhurst United Churches will meet in Lyndhurst United Church for their Annual Laymen's Sunday Service on Sun. COMMUNITY FORUMFOR SEELEYS BAY AND LYNDHURST by Jan Hill Over the past few weeks a group of interested residents from the communities of Seeleys Bay and Lyndhurst have been meeting and working together to organise this our first ever Community Devel- opment Day. This day will be held at the Sweets Corner School on Sat.Nov. 5th, from 9 a.m. and continuing through the day until approx. 4:00 p.m. Similar Community Forms are being and have been held already in towns and villages throughout Leeds and Grenville for the past month. This self-help programme was developed by the Institute of Cultural Affairs (I.C.A.) and is offered with the aid of loc- al sponsorship to assist com- munities in assessing their pro- blems and devising ways of solvâ€" ing them through cooperative com munity effort. All residents of Lyndhurst and Seeleys Bay are invited to attend as full community involvement is essential if results are to be achieved. What are the new needs of our community? What are our problems and how can we resolve them? Come and find out, meet your friends and neighbours and en- joy yourselves. Following the welcome at 9am., the day will start with a morn- ing 'workshop'.
