It is our intention that this month should be another landmark in our development. We have made a successful application under the Canada Works Program and as a result we are now in a position to hire a full-time employee to supplement the efforts of the volunteers. Our new staff member will be writing a number of feature articles for each issue and will be available to do in depth research and reporting on issues of local interest. We hope that the presence of a full-time staff member will help us to co- ordinate our efforts and add continuity to our publication. If you are planning a special meeting or event that you would like to have covered, or if you feel there is a need for any kind of specialized column on a regular basis, please call our reporter at 272â€"2158, or write to the Leeds Lantern at Box 89, Westport. We are trying hard to do a professional job and provide a service to our community. If there‘s something we can do for you, your group or your community, give us a call and we'll give it our best. Doug Roantree The Lantern is distributed free of charge to all households in the Townâ€" ships of North Crosby, South Crosby, Bastard and South Burgess, Rear of Leeds and Lansdowne; Newboro and Westâ€" port. The North Leeds Lantern is published on or before the lst of every month. It is produced by a committee of volunâ€" teers and is supported by most of the township councils in North Leeds.
