It has been suggested that municipal trails should be set up, perhaps in each of the three main village areas. Skiiers may find it enjoyable to form a club as the snowmobilers have done. Any interested skiiers are invited to attend the Winter Carnival in Elgin on Saturday, January 28th. to enjoy group skiing. Others may wish to bring their ideas on this sub- ject to the February meeting of the South Crosby Recreation Comm- ittee, to be held at the Elgin Community Centre on Feb. 14th at 8:00 p.m. 080 O’HEARN’S SHELL 6’ VARIETY STgORE GENERAL & MAJOR REPAIRS GAS, TIRES, BATTERIES & ACCESSERIES Ucensedlnechank Elgin,0nt. 359-5588 ELGIN BROWNIES Elgin Brownies have resumed their meetings, with a change of time. Meetings are now held each Tuesday night at 6:45 at South Crosby Public School. We are fortunate to have some new people connected with this worthwhile activity, and we thank them for their time and interest: Betty Hawkins, Donna O'Conner and Denise Gordanier. Enrollment of the pack will take place on Tues. Feb.7th. and the Brownie mothers are invited to attend this formal ceremony. ATTENTION ALL SNOWMOBILERS This message is very important from the Rideau Ridge Riders Club. / Please give some consider- ation to cross country skiiers. They enjoy having trails, just as you do, and are most frustra- ted to have them ruined by snow machines. The Rideau Ridge Rid rs have cut and marked ex- cellent trails; please stay on them. Also, permission has been granted (sometimes not too easilyQ to cross private properties. Without this permission, we could not have continuous trails. In return for permission to use these private properties, we must respect the wishes of the owners. Some operators are breaking some of the basic rules of good sense and good manners, and the consequence could be closure of the trails for every- one. So, please -do not cut fences -stay on the marked trails -do not molest animals -do not litter PERSONNEL REQUIRED For SOUTH CROSBY TOWNSHEP BEACH and PLAYGROUND PROGRAM 3 Playground positions 1 Swimming instructor Apply in writing to: Mr. C.G.Smith Box 39, Elgin, Ont.
