A New Year's Eve party was held for members and their friends and the gaily decorated building added to the holiday spirit. Approximately 40 people attended and after an evening of dancing, enjoyed a delicious buffet. 'Chantry Co" â€" Delta Fire Department The regular monthly meeting'was held on January 10, with the usual monthly business being dealt with, and a work session being held before the meeting. The next regular meeting will be held February 14th, at which the first $100. Draw ticket for 1978 will be drawn. EVERYONE WELCOME! HARLEM-CHANTRY U.C.W. Mrs. Leo Wykes was hostess for the Harlem-Chantry U.C.W. meeting on Tues. Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. The theme for the meeting was New Year's Resolutidns. The president Mrs. L. Townsend opened the meeting with call to worship and welcomed the members. Mrs. Holmes Eyre conducted a very im- pressive worship service in keeping with the New Year's theme, assisted by Mrs. Albert Gile with scripture reading. Hymn "O God our help in ages past" was sung with Mrs. E. Campbell at the piano. Roll call was answered by 13 members with a New Year's verse. The offering was received and dediâ€" cated. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and correspondence consisting of thank you nxï¬a;$etc. was read. Mrs. Omar Hunt read a very interesâ€" ting New Year’s paper prepared by Mrs. Geo. Kitson who was unable to attend due to illness. Business was conducted in the usual manner. Treasurer Mrs. E. Campbell gave a financial statement for 1977. 25 Home and 16 Hospital calls were made to the sick and shut ins and 11 books were read. The presidenithanked Mrs. Wykes for her hospitality and all who helped with the meeting and closed the meeting with prayer. A social hour and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Jaqueline Carpenter has been reassigned to additional duties at Sweet's Corners School.At the same time, Mrs. Suzanne Schuurman.is leav- ing to accompany her family to a new residence in 0ttawa.Their enthusiasm and dedication will be missed. Mr. John Jonston has joined the staff on a halfâ€"time basis.His duties will include the Grades 7 and 8 French program and occasional substituting for Mr. Leeson.
