For over six years, this group has been delighting audiences throughout the counâ€" ties by their singing of wellâ€" loved gospel songs and novelty choruses. Their varied programme inâ€" cluded group singing, solo's, trio, etc., and standing ovaâ€" tions showed the appreciation of the audience â€" a well deâ€" served tribute to 'the boys in blue and their accomplished pianist'. The C.d. room of Seeley's Bay United Church was attractively decorated and a special birthday cake made in the shape of the figures Q_Q was lighted with candles. Rev. S.A.R. Delve, a forâ€" mer minister spoke of the high esteem and affection, her faith and faithfulness to her church - teaching in Sunday School and active in W.M.S., etc., and the example her life has been. The Reeve, Hubert Sly, presented to Laurence Hudson, Road Superintendâ€" ent, Certificate granted by the Ontario Good Roads Association for successful completion of the two- year T.J. Mahony Road School Course. Accounts for Roads were passed in the amount of $21,831.52 for the month of September. At the regular meeting held Monday, October 16, 1978, Tender for winter 'sand from W. P. Green & Sons Ltd. was accepted, subject to approval of 3MTC. This was the only tender received. Council acknowledged receipt of the photograph of the Members of the Twenty-fourth Parliament, House of Commons, Canada, wherein Hayden 'Stanton, former Reeve of this Town- ship and Warden of the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville, is sitting member for Leeds, and extended thanks to Ralph Stanton for allowing the Township to have this picture to place in Council Chambers. ‘The final montes available under the Tile Drainage Act were allocated as applied for by landowners in the Township. The total funds available this year were $17,700 from the Ministry of Agriculture & Food. These loans are available for up to 75% of cost of bile drainage work done.
