SEELEYS BAY SENIOR CITIZENS The Club enjoyed a Pot Luck Lunch on Apr.14 in the Legion Hall.It was held on the Club's Dropâ€"In day,a time for fellowship and enjoyment. As usual the table was laden with good things.We'll never unâ€" derstand why the menu is so varâ€" ied and bountiful with no advance planning! Five women visitors from Lyndâ€" hurst were welcomed. After lunch,Freda Moulton who has recently returned from a trip to Greece,gave us an interesting and humourous account of her trip. She had a good variety of picturâ€" es to show. Afterwards,members enjoyed bridge,euchre and visiting. The next meeting will be Apr. 28-a combination of business and entertainment. Recently we have enjoyed many films obtained by Mr.Fred Stew- art-some with spectacular scenâ€" ery in all parts of Canada. New Senior members and visi- tors are always welcome. Because of the increase in number of voting residents in Poll 1, Ehis Poll has been divided into two and will be known as Poll 1 and P011 6, Poll 1 consisting of Lots l to L inâ€" clusive in the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Concession of Leeds, and the balance of the original Poll 1 now beint Poll 6. This division will be effeczive commencing with the election year 1978, as set out in The Municipal Elections Ac,. The teams this year are from Gan- anoque,Newboro,Elgin,Westport, two from Seeleys Bay,and perhaps Delta. The games will be played on Tues.,Thurs. and Sunday at 8:30 p.m. beginning May 14. The budget for the Township was set at the regular meeting on April 17. The Residential and Farm mill rate for 1978 was se: a; 121.55 mills and the Commercial and Business mill raze for 1978 will be 138.3A. Tax Bills will be mailed to preperty owners in the middle of May. Grants were made to the Firs; Iyndâ€" hurst Cub Pack, the Gananoque and Dis rict Association for the Mentally retarded and to the YMâ€"YWCA for the municipal portion of the 1978 taxes on Grippen Lake Camp. Residents are advised that it is once again the time of the year when permits must be obtained for outside burning. Permits are available from Mr. Art Hughes in Lyndhurst and from Ralph Webb, Fire Chief, in Seeleys Bay. As indicated in the advertisement placed in local papers by the North Leeds Planning Board, copies of the draft amended Official Plan for the Nor,h Leeds Planning Area are now in the Township Office and may be looked over in the office or taken out for a few days upon payment of a $9.00 deposit.
