Lewis Soper, Fire Chief and Mr. Wayne Carbino attended our meeting. Mr. Soper has resi- gned as Fire Chief. After discuss- ion on vacancy, it was recommended by Council Nr. Wayne Carbino be promoted to Chief and Mr. Paul Yurkowsky as Deputy Fire Chief. In regards to the burning of anything other than every day household refuse, which may be burned in a suitable incinerator or can, properly covered with a screen to prevent spreading, resi- dents must obtain a Fire Regulation Form from the Fire Chief, Wayne Carbino, 359-5959 or from Deputy Chief Paul Yurkowsky, 359-5236. Anyone starting a fire will be responsible for all costs or damages. The South Crosby Township Council passed a motion that the Ministry of Transportation and Communication review the existing location of the Elgin approach sign on Highway 15, as Council feels it obstructs the vision of motorists travelling westward on County Road 8 approaching High- way 15. A gravel tender was accepted from Sweet's Sand and Stone Ltd. for 5000 cu. yd. 5/8 crushed gravel, supplied, delivered and spread anywhere in the Township for the sum of $9, 750.00. Council has applied for another grant from the Ministry of Natural Resources for further development of our Township Park. It has been decided to not hold an April meeting. The Final meeting of the year will be held Tuesday, May 29th at 8 p.m. in the Nursery School room. We would like to have all parents present as we review the past year with Heather Green, checking mistakes which were made and deciding how they can be avoided next year.
