C(DLJN Cl L blEVVS Garbage regulations * Call for restructuring of Boards of Education * Planning Council met on Feb.6'78 at the Village Hall.Present were:E.Bresee,T.Landon, R.A.Taylor,D.Delaney,with K.Rasmussin in the Chair. The meeting was also attended by D.S.Burtch,the Town Maintenance Man.He informed Council that some Village residents are pumping water directly onto Village streets. This practice is causing ice to form.Council agreed to send out letters stating that this must stop. Mr. Burtch also raised a problem regarding garbage. He complained that some bags were too heavy and boxes were not broken down.As a result Council passed a motion that garbage must be put in plastic bags, and that cardboard boxes must be crushed and put in a container.Weight must not exceed 80 1b.. The minutes of the Recreation Committee were adopted as read. A motion was also carried to endorse the resolution of the County of Grey re- garding the restructuring of the local Beards of Education. The resolution describes educational administration as top-heavy and calls for a re-examination of funding. It is felt that too large a proportion of local tax bills goes to education,part- icularly in a time of declining enrollment. Bills were presented and paid to a total of $5460.26. Copies of the North Leeds Plan were distributed to Council to be read and conâ€" sidered.A special meeting was planned to discuss differences before a submission is made to the Planning Board. R. L.
