Council authorized the posting of load limit signs on the following bridges: Carding Mill Bridge - 10 tons, Latimer Bridge 12 tons, Berryton Bridge â€" 12 tons. An appraisal of these bridges has been carried out by a firm of Consultants, and the recommendations for impr0vement forwarded to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for their approval. Final applications for road subsidy were authorized, and the Clerk was authorized to submit the proposed Road Budget for 1978 to the Ministry. Application has been made for a summer program under the Opportunity For Youth Program of the Federal Government. If this grant is approved, students will be hired through the Gananoque Manpower Office from those registered there. The next meeting of Council will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 1978. Seeleys Bay Senior Citizens JOIN IN Just a reminder that the Seeleys Bay Senior Citizens Club is still alive and a going concern-just marking time while winter weather is still with us.We've done little since Christmas due to rough snow conditions. We're all still remembering the excel lent Christmas dinner we all enjoyed at Nixon's Restaurant.Mrs.Nixon sure is a good cook and organizer. We meet regularly twice a month.The first meeting,on the 2nd Friday,is a "Drop-Ingjust for pleasure-visiting, cards,etc..The second meeting,on the 4th Friday of the month,is business folâ€" lowed by a social time. During the summer we enjoy picnics on our "Dropâ€"In" days.From now until summer weather we can enjoy Pot Luck lunches at noon on those days-indoor picnics30ne of these will be held at noon on March 10-every lady should bring one dish. We welcome all seniors in the area to our meetings.Come along and bring a neighbour. Fun Day at Seeleys Bay , _/ A day of winter fun on the ice was held Sat.,Feb.25,sponsored by the See- leys Bay Volunteer Fire Department.Evâ€" ents included harness racing,log sawing skating and a fishing derby. Outdoor events were followed by a chile dinner and a dance. A good crowd turned out and $1200 was raised toward the purchase of a "mini-pumper" for the fire department.
