The March meeting of the Elgin Catholic League was held in two parts. The first part was held at the home of Father O'Neil. This was in the form of an Executive meeting to clear some business that would not have to be done at the second meeting. This will be a joint group meeting with other churches and parishes. Many cards and messages of thanks were received. There will be a Leadership Training Day on April 11 sponsored by Mrs. Carmel Foster on Christian Family Life. Our Annual Membership Luncheon will be held at the Hotel Kenney on June 7 when we will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary. We hope to invite former Pastors, presidents, 50 year members, and Charter members. We hope to have an interesting speaker. We will have two membership Sundays hoping for some new members. The second part of the March meeting was a joint meeting wherein the churches of other denominations were invited to our Senior Citizens room to attend a Right To Life Meeting sponsored by our group from Brockville who showed most interesting films on this vital topic. A prominent doctor from the group followed with a most interest- ing talk. There was also a nurse who rendered a most thought provoking commentary on not only Right to Life for the unborn but also the similar horrors of Euthanasia. A vote of thanks and gift was given to the group in appreciation of their work. daybztf CHIMNEY SWEEPING ‘NSPECTION a. REPAIR SPLIT 8. DRY HARDWOOD FOR SALE KEN RASNWESEN R.R. 1 ELGlN. ONT. A culvert is suddenly placed in the ditch next to the cemetery - truck after truck of fill is dumped, a grader levels each load â€" back and forth the trucks wheel and dump their cargoes. What's going on â€" a road access takes shape - leading to where? Are we being invaded by the Uranium research- ers? is the government involved in secret manoevers? Saturdays and Sun- days see some well known residents working their way through the underbush? What are they searching for - it's too early for spring morels and too late for puff balls â€" vehicles appear deep in the woods â€" What is going on? Suddenly a sign is erected â€" a sigh of relief â€" the Elgin "Lions and Lioness Club" â€" but what are they doing out in the bush????? I
