PHILIPSVILLE W. l. The Philipsville W.I. held their April meeting at the home of Thelma Stevens. The meeting opened with the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Roll call was a familiar slogan. The minutes were read and approved. Mary Sutcliffe gave a reading on New Beginnings. Director, Mrs. Clara Hallett; Curator, Mrs. Mabel Davison; Resolu- tions, Mrs. Mavis Bowers; Auditors, Mrs. Leorene Hayes, Mrs. Doris Barclay. Convenors for Standing Committees: Agriculture and Canadian Industries, Leorene Hayes; Citizenship and World Affairs, Clara Hallett; Education and Cultural Activities, Marjorie McCann; Family and Consumer Affairs, Faye Jansen; Pianist, Mabel Davison;‘ Courtesy Committee, Buelah Mattice. All new members were sworn in for the coming year. Singing of the Royal Anthem closed this part of the meeting. Lunch was served. Marion Stone had the marked tea cup. Next meeting will be May 7th at l p.m. in the hall. Everyone is to have ma- terial for program planning, and we hope some will have new ideas. The programs are to be ready for printing before the next meeting.
