We EXHIBIT During July, the Rideau Lakes Union Library, Delta Branch is featuring a special exhibit depicting ADMIRAL'S COVE AND TROUT RIVER in Newfoundland as seen through the lens of Photograph- er Pamela Harris. The exhibit includes some 17 scenic colour photos which show the people of two Newfoundland communities against / a background of their own making and thus strikingly portrays the realities of their lives. Pamela Harris's interest in photoâ€" graphy began in 1965 and most of her technical ability has been acquired through her own exploration of the medium. Her photographs have been published in Arts Canada, Image Nation and Vision and Expression and exhibited at the Baldwin Street Gallery in Toronto and the Centaur Gallery in Montreal. This exhibit is currently on loan from the Still Photography Division of the National Film Board for an exhib- ition tour of public libraries sponsor- ed by the Eastern Ontario Library Sys- tem. The Public Libraries' Act and granting and operation of libraries in Ontario may be subject to change as the result of the Task Force's study. After hear- ing only a few of the 90 plus Boards in Eastern Ontario had submitted briefs, Mrs. Little contacted more than 80 Boards, encouraging them to become inâ€" volved. She was overwhelmed with the response and was invited to speak to various Boards throughout Eastern Ontâ€" ario. She attended a joint meeting of 5 Boards in Lanark County and conduct- ed an information workshop in Athens for all Boards in Leeds and Grenville. With enquiries from Chalk River, Ren- frew, etc., information sheets were compiled and hopefully the interested Boards will be able to compose their briefs and submit them to Mr. Bassnetg Chairman of the Task Force. Briefs are also invited from any resident in Eastâ€" ern Ontario â€" for information &/or addâ€" ress contact Mrs. Little, Box 89, Elgin, Ont. Mrs. Little was also able to exâ€" press her concern with the lack of reâ€" presentation from Eastern Ontario(on the Task Force committees set up by the Minister of Culture and Recreation) to MPP Bob Runciman. It is hoped that copies of briefs will be sent to Mr. Runciman so that he may be kept inforâ€" med of the wishes of his constituents.
