Page 22 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN ELGIN LIONESS CLUB The Elgin Lioness Club Third Annual Charter Night was held at South Crosby Public School on March 20. Zone Chairman David Green brought greetings from District Governor John Cowell. He spoke briefly, expressing pleasure at being with us and at the achievements of the Lioness Clubs. Other guests present were Lioness members from Barrhaven, Brockville, Perth, Star Lake (Clifton Fine), N.Y. 1000 Islands and several members from the Elgin Lions Club. Prizes for the visitors were drawn by numbers. Entertainment for the evening, was provided by the Port Elmsley Gadabouts and was enjoyed by all. Lioness Nayâ€" dene Shanks expressed thanks and preâ€" sented the group with a cheque. The evening continued with Lion Presâ€" ident Ron Tinkess inducting a new member, Lioness Evelyn Ramdhanie, into the Elgin Club. More prizes were drawn for, and a 50â€"50 draw was won by Lioness Doris Summers. This was followed with a presentation to our Lioness Marj. made by Lioness Lorraine Kellar, 1000 Islands club. This gift was a memento of a recent visit to Moncey, N.Y. Lioness President Lila Welch thanked all for their help and participation. The evening closed with a Chinese Auction.
