Mrs. Bell gave an inspiring talk urging participation in the Ontario Bicentennial. She outlined briefly, the history of our province and explained the significance of the Bicentennial logo. Ours is indeed a rich heritage, and we should strive to remember and cherish it. "The white pine is Ontario's tree, so it is hoped that many of these trees will be planted in our province during 1984, as a celebration of the event" she stated. Mrs. Bell was thanked by our president Mrs. G.R. Gallinger. With the aid of coloured slides, Mr. 8: Mrs. Ben Cameron described a recent trip they had made to Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria & Germany. The scenery in Switzerland is magnificent. Chalets nestled among the green fields with a background of evergreen trees and snowâ€"capped mountains. Sponsors: The Anglican Diocese of Ontario World Development Subâ€"Committee The South African Education Project. The Primate's World Relief & Development Office. The Parish of Lansdowne Rear Third World Task Force. REGISTRATION Preâ€"registration is not essential but it is very helpful. Send t_o: Mr. Clair Moulton RR #4 Athens, Ont. KOE 1B0 Flower boxes, usually containing geraniums, seemed to be attached to every window. Most towns had narrow streets and many of these streets were adorned with paintings. A variety of art work brightened some buildings. Roads on the mountains are steep and winding but always surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Austria is outstanding for its beautiful castles and architecture. Houses, though joined together, are of different colours with flower boxes at each window. Memorable features of Austria include the still beautiful Blue Danube, the Vienna waltzes, a monument to Mozart as well as the castle around which "The Sound of Music" was filmed. The Cameron's were introduced by Mrs. Marion Stoltz and thanked by Mrs. Rose Brown. The annual meeting in April will start with a pot luck supper on Wed. April 18/84. For this meeting the nominating committee is to be Mrs. Mabel Stanford and Mrs. Helen Ramsey. A clear and comprehensive report of the District Director's meeting was presented by Mrs. Ruth Cameron, .who reported that the District Annual was to be held in Gananoque on May 24.
