page 18 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL Eighty-seven children (ages 5â€"12) and leaders from the area attended the second annual Children's Festival in Kingston. The children assembled at City Park and paraded to St. George‘s Cathedral where they participated in a short worship service. Welcomed by Bishop Read and Dean Baker, the children were led in song by Paul Appleby and treated to a dramatization of the "Prodigal Son". Actors for the play were from Sydenham, Seeley's Bay and Elgin. The service co-ordinators were Father Don Bailey 8: Father Bob Wright. 1 Following a lunch, the children returned to the Park for an afternoon program. Sessions of games, crafts, drama and music and a farewell blessing from Bishop Read concluded the day. Congratulations and thanks should be extended to the leaders and children.
