Many of the activities brought residents and 5- tourists together through special events, ‘~: barbeques yard sales etc. The summer 1. play-ground/camp programs appear to have ' served the children well with many interesting offerings. Armiumflh‘ ("A \,.a,mw<mgwme_w As a yearâ€"long resident it seemed that the number of tourists and visitors was about the same as last year however I noticed considerably less traffic on weekends when our area is usually flooded. Many spent time watching the efforts of our athletes at the Olympics while others became involved in the inevitable work connected with the upâ€"coming Federal election. Can anyone have imagined the number of major events planned for 1984.....Ontario's bicentennial, the Federal election, the Queen's visit (delayed slightly), the Olympics, the Pope's visit as well as Presidential election in the USA. How can this be topped next year? It seems as though everyone wants to be in the act. Even a possible late fall Provincial election has been heavily rumoured. I suppose the only positive thing to be made from all of this _is that 1985 should be a marvellously relaxmg year for everyone..... - ' lele invenlory ol d F clor Servuce We 03W 3 Comp V ‘.
