For a number of years I have been associated with local and provincial people who are interested in recycling our industrial and household wastes. Most of this material is plant food, by burning it we pollute the air. by burying it. it leaches into our water table polluting our wells. lakes and rivers. This causes great growth of water plants which take all the oxygen from the water causing heavy fish kill and undesirable water quality. The Provincial government has money available to conduct studies for better ways to deal with our wastes. both household and industrial. It is my belief that County Council could be persuaded to go for a pilot project in Leeds County. If you feel as I do that we have to take better care of our resources: our air. our water. our land, our people. then I would ask for your support in voting for me as Deputy Reeve in the forthcoming Municipal Election in South Crosby. By being elected to this post I can better serve you on County Council to promote better resource management. I believe this area is one of the most beautiful areas that can be found. I believe this area needs some local industry to supply jobs and bring some hard cash into this region. We have good schools but we need pupils to keep them full and this can only be accomplished if there is income through jobs for people and they do not have to drive fifty miles or more a day to work.
